The Danish Meat Research Institute (DMRI) and the Centre for Advanced Food Studies (LMC) has taken the initiative to host the 55th International Congress of Meat Science and Technology (ICoMST) with the aim of disseminating the latest research, innovations and visions within the field of Meat Science and Technology.
ICoMST is the annual forum for the international exchange of new scientific ideas in meat science. The first congress was organised in 1955 under the name ‘European Meeting of Meat Research Workers’. The name was changed to International Congress of Meat Science and Technology in 1987. Today the congress has representation from all major meat producing countries with attendees from up to 50 different nations thus providing a unique forum for exchange of scientific knowledge and ideas, planning of joint research and other co-operative issues. Students and young researchers are particularly encouraged to attend.
ICoMST has a Contact Secretary, who provides a permanent address for ICoMST to facilitate co-operation and contacts with the past and future meetings. The function of the Contact Secretary is also to establish contacts with people and organisations outside ICoMST and assist the organisers of the meetings - http://www.icomst.helsinki.fi/index.htm
